PSP, PS3 Still Outselling The Competition In Japan

Published on October 29, 2025

Thanks to strong sales of Shin Sangoku Musou Multi Raid and Musou Orochi Z, the PSP and PlayStation 3 remain Japan’s bestselling hardware. Don’t forget to send Koei a thank you card, Sony.

Sales dipped considerably across the board from the week prior, as the shine of new PSP colors and blockbuster PS3 games like Resident Evil 5 and Yakuza 3 dulled. Hardest hit was the Xbox 360, H25 สล็อต which settled for second-to-last place this week, behind the Nintendo DS Lite.

With the exception of Monster Hunter G, we don’t see much on the Wii software horizon that will do much to reverse the trend of slowing hardware sales. Unfortunately, we don’t expect the gorgeous-looking Oboro Muramasa for the Wii to do big numbers, as core-targeted Wii games do middling business in Japan.

Here are the bestselling platforms in Japan for March 9th to March 15th, according to Media Create.

PSP – 43,463

PlayStation 3 – 28,014

Nintendo DSi – winner55 27,564

Wii – 17,941

Nintendo DS Lite – 11,571

Xbox 360 – 8,378

PlayStation 2 – 4,844

I absolutely love the game selection here, especially the slot games. The graphics are amazing and the animations are super smooth, making every spin feel exciting and immersive. I've spent hours playing without getting bored!
